Olivier Piccolin was appointed Senior Vice President and General Manager Asia Commercial Lighting Royal Philips on January 2009. In his current capacity he is responsible for overseeing the lighting business across Asian markets whilst strengthening Philips Lighting‟s leading position with a special focus on promoting energy efficient solutions and Solid State Lighting.
Mr Piccolin‟s main priority is to understand end users‟ needs and aspirations, and ensure Philips Lighting provides sustainable solutions to cater to these needs. Philips Lighting‟s energy-efficient innovation such as LEDS, can positively impact people‟s lives and the environment. As the global leader in the lighting industry, Philips is committed to offer this innovation for every key segment and application.
Mr Piccolin, born in France is a graduate of Ecole Polytechnique – Paris. His experience is in project management, marketing and sales. In various general management positions, he has achieved a strong track record of driving growth and building highly competent and motivated teams for Philips.
He joined Philips in 1989 and was attached to Consumer Electronics under the Car System Division as Project Leader. After being attached to Consumer Electronics for five years, he moved on to Philips Components as Sales Group Manager. From 1996 to present, he has been attached to the Lighting division of Philips, first as global marketing manager for Automotive Signaling. He transferred to Hong Kong, overseeing the business unit automotive in Asia, and then to Shanghai to lead the Luminaires business for Asia Pacific. His last role prior to the current one was as Senior Vice President- General Manager Lighting Greater China being stationed at Philips Lighting in Shanghai.
Mr Piccolin has been working in Asia for the past 10 years, having been based in China and Hong Kong. In his current capacity, he is based in Singapore. He is married with two children.
